Interim Executive Director
Onjila Odeneal is DCAN's Interim Executive Director. She earned her Bachelors' degrees from the University of Detroit Mercy in Political Science/Legal Administration and Business Administration. She continued her studies receiving a master’s degree in Educational Psychology with a focus on student development at Wayne State University. Prior to her work at DCAN, Onjila worked in higher education financial aid at public and private institutions for 8 years; served as an education consultant/program developer for secondary schools and nonprofits; as well as spent several years in various capacities in nonprofits focused on education and community development. Born, raised, and educated in Detroit as a low-income, 1st generation student, Onjila has a deep passion to ensure that kids with backgrounds similar to her own are equipped to be successful in the endeavors that they face.
Ashley Lane is the Program Manager. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor as a proud recipient of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Scholarship. Prior to her time at DCAN, she worked as the College Prep Coordinator and Alumni Relations Coordinator at University Prep Science and Math High School for 5 years. As a first-generation college student from Detroit, Ashley strives to empower urban youth to successfully navigate their educational pathway to bring their dreams to reality.
Rachel D’Alio is the Office Administrative Coordinator. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in Arts and Humanities. Rachel joined DCAN as an AmeriCorps VISTA managing and supporting many projects with the growth of DCAN, prior to transitioning into the role of Office Administrative Coordinator. She is passionate about civic engagement and empowering communities through a social justice framework.
Olivia Tubaro is one of DCAN’s AmeriCorps VISTAs. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Language, & Writing and Spanish from Central Michigan University. Before joining DCAN, she worked as an English as a Second or Other Language (ESOL) paraprofessional at an elementary school in Florida. She is passionate about creating more equitable access to the unique opportunities available to college students. She supports work with data collection, FAFSA strategy, special populations, and communication efforts at DCAN.

Lindsay Regalado is one of DCAN's AmeriCorps VISTAs. She recently graduated from Michigan State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication with a concentration in Organizational Communication. While at Michigan State, she volunteered at Haven House, a family homeless shelter, and interned at Michigan Health Information Network. She is looking forward to the next year and helping students in Detroit achieve their educational dreams.
